About this Session
You’re hearing from us because you joined our aMTB waiting list for 2026. We have decided to offer one final induction in 2025 — and we’d love to see you there. We will be running individual 75 min induction sessions throughout the day. Places are limited and bookings are essential to secure your timeslot. If you miss out, the next induction opportunity will be in 2026.
Key Details:
Date: Sunday 5 October 2025
Location: Break the Boundary Hub, 361 Paulls Valley Road, Paulls Valley (Kalamunda Trail Hub)
Duration: Free session · up to 75 minutes
Weather: Induction sessions go ahead rain, hail or shine as most of this session is undercover!
What Happens in an Induction?
At Break the Boundary, we have Australia’s largest collection of adaptive bikes all in one place, all of the bikes are slightly different to suit our riders! Our goal of our induction session is to get to know you and set you up in the most suitable adaptive MTB, with a configuration our team can recreate every time you ride.
You’ll begin by meeting friendly clinicians from Integrated Support Solutions WA, who’ll ask a few questions and make sure everything is safe, comfortable and tailored to your needs.
During your session we will:
Help select the most suitable bike
Support you with transferring in and out
Adjust your position for comfort, support and stability
Show you how the bike works (gears, braking, general handling)
Once you’re ready, we’ll do a short familiarisation lap around the carpark to get used to the bike and build confidence. We’ll then return to the hub, make any final adjustments, and note down your setup so it’s ready for your next skills session.
Support Riders
For most Break the Boundary rides, participants head out with a support rider — someone who knows you well and can share the day with you.
For your induction, it’s helpful if a support rider can attend (and bring their bike if they have one), but it’s not a barrier to taking part if they can’t. If you don’t have a support rider yet or they can’t make it, just let us know and we’ll work with you to plan your next steps.
If a support rider does attend, we’ll meet them, check their bike is suitable for the trails, and learn a little about their riding experience so everyone feels confident.
Meet Your Adaptive MTB Leaders
You’ll be supported by WA’s first trained Adaptive Mountain Bike Leaders — experienced volunteers with training in:
PMBIA Level 1 Coaching
Wilderness First Aid
Disability Awareness
MTB recovery
Adaptive bike equipment
They’re selected for their trail experience, compassion, and commitment to helping everyone access the outdoors. At your induction, they’ll be joined by clinicians from Integrated Support Solutions WA to make sure your setup is safe, comfortable and tailored to your needs.
