Supporting
Break the Boundary
Everyone deserves to enjoy the outdoors!
Every day, people living with disabilities and physical impairments face barriers that limit how they move, connect, and experience the world. Break the Boundary exists to change that.
Through our unique adaptive hiking and adaptive mountain biking programs, we help people with disabilities get off flat surfaces and out into the amazing West Australian bush.
Since 2019, our Perth Hills Hub has evolved into a thriving centre of inclusion and innovation, where volunteers, technology, and community spirit come together to redefine what’s possible outdoors.
Our programs are entirely volunteer run and we are currently seeking enquiries for sponsorship in 2026.
How Your Sponsorship Helps
Your contribution directly supports the long-term sustainability and growth of our adaptive trail programs. Funds are used to maintain, improve, and protect the Perth Hills Hub - the heart of our adaptive riding and hiking community. Here are some of our upcoming projects.
Facility Upgrades & Maintenance
Hub storage and security: Ensuring our high-value adaptive bikes and tools are stored safely and securely.
New tap-and-go air compressor: Installing an easy-access pump station for the community to inflate tyres before and after rides.
Ongoing equipment maintenance: Around $2,000 per year to service and repair adaptive bikes and support gear.
Volunteer Development & Operations
Volunteer training: Building the skills and confidence of our 100% volunteer team through leadership and technical training.
Operational costs: Supporting day-to-day administration, safety, and program delivery.
Insurance coverage: This is our most significant annual expense. Ensuring our volunteers, participants, and equipment are protected under comprehensive contents and liability insurance.
Your sponsorship helps us keep the Hub running smoothly, safe for all users, and ready for the next generation of adaptive adventurers.

A little bit more about us
Break the Boundary was founded in 2012 by Andrew Liddawi, who was permanently paralysed after a mountain biking accident.
Through determination, innovation, and community support, he re-discovered freedom via adaptive mountain biking — and made it his mission to share that experience with others.
Since then, Break the Boundary has:
Introduced adaptive mountain biking to Australia
Conquered state mountain bike races, including Cape to Cape
Hosted beginner adventure camps since 2017
Established as an Incorporated Association, Australian Charity, and Deductible Gift Recipient
Partnered with Mountain Bike Australia and the adaptive sports community
Operated entirely through the dedication of 100% volunteers — including coaches, physios, mechanics, hiking leaders, and administrators
Our Committee & Recent Achievements
Break the Boundary is run entirely by a dedicated volunteer committee and operational team, combining expertise across outdoor recreation, disability inclusion, health, community engagement, and governance.
Over the past two years, the committee has:
Expanded programs in both adaptive mountain biking and adaptive hiking, with structured volunteer and participant training pathways.
Secured and managed over $100,000 in government and community grants to improve accessibility, safety, and inclusion.
Upgraded the Perth Hills Hub — installing new infrastructure, improving storage, and expanding adaptive equipment.
Recruited and trained new volunteer leaders, including adaptive hiking and mountain bike coaches, to deliver safe and inclusive programs.
Built strong partnerships with organisations such as Integrated Support Solutions WA, Kalamunda Mountain Bike Collective, and Outdoors WA.
Developed new systems and reporting tools for governance, grant acquittal, and volunteer coordination — ensuring the charity continues to grow sustainably.
This progress has been driven entirely by volunteers committed to creating a community where anyone, regardless of ability, can experience adventure, connection, and confidence in nature.
